Elk hunting was slightly tough, opening day I forgot my GPS and camera. My 1st year
hunting this area and at 12000 feet it was beautiful sunrise and view that made me
go, damn I forgot my camera!
One of the guys I was hunting with worked his way to me and told me to start walking
down the hill and pointed. He told me I would run into his dad. After walking for 30
minutes I had no clue where I was, know wishing I had my GPS! I found a creek and a
rock to sit on until Al found me wanting to know what I was doing way over here!
Dennis seen me walking and never said a word to me and let me keep walking!
No elk. Sunday I was feeling crappy so I stayed lower and Dennis shot a nice cow
and 1 other guy got a bull calf. Monday still sick stayed in. Tuesday to the
hospital….pneumonia Dr. says no more hunting or I’ll be in the hospital.
Wed did some plumbing, Thursday went hunting our group shot 6 elk.
Who says elk hunting isn’t fun!! Still fighting the pneumonia though.Loved the warm
weather!
